Hello Team
I need to give a user access to Item counting journal as approver "How to give approve option in item counting journal"
the Post menu button itself not shown
both duty been set to the user no luck
"maintain counting journals"
"Approve physical inventory counting"
Hi,
In AX2012 there is no specific approval functionality available for counting journals.
What is available are the privacy settings that allow only specific users using those kind of journals.
In addition, you can make use of the role based security functionalities to prevent that specific users can post this journal.
If those standard features are not sufficient then you have to consider making a system modification.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Thanks Ludwig,
as you said, "What is available are the privacy settings that allow only specific users using those kind of journals." do you mean "maintain counting journals" and "Approve physical inventory counting"
or something else
also,
making a system modification
what is your advice note that I do not know X++
Hi MAM@msn,
There is no default workflow for counting journal in AX 2012, so you need to create/design a custom workflow.
The below MSDN article steps will help you to create a custom workflow
docs.microsoft.com/.../walkthrough-creating-a-workflow-type
Or
community.dynamics.com/.../ax-2012-create-custom-workflow
I am not sure, but I guess it should not be that compicated
There is no direct role or duty for Posting counting journal
As administrator I can see the post button
In have 2 users one creating the counting journal 2nd one is posting this journal
I found the Privileges and Duty names to post Counting Journal:
Privilege to create new counting journal: Process item journals
Privilege to post counting journal: Post counting journal | Duty name: Approve physical inventory counting
I dont have AX 2012 environment but so i took the below screen print from D365 FO just for your reference: Please note "Post counting journal" is not associated with any Role, I dont know the technical reason but i am sure, there will be a systematic logic.
Did you succeed or not yet?
Hi MM,
You can create a (new role or an existing role) and assign the privileges' section in the class/Inventjournalcheckpost and assign the role to the user.
Good morning MAM@msn,
I was referring to this functionality that allows defining the users who can make use of this journal.
That's a standard feature and does not need any specific role setup or modification.
Still no luck
