User Defined Fields from Account Code - Reporting

Posted on by Microsoft Employee
I am using the 'User Defined Fields' on my GL Account Code but they don't appear on any reports - I can only get User Defined 1&2 on my Smartlist reports as well and am not able to get 3 & 4. Also does anyone know of a way of bringing them onto an FRx Report.

RE: User Defined Fields from Account Code - Reporting

I have the same question just with Management Reporter.  How can I utilize user defined fields from account maintenance to run reports in management reporter?

    Thank you.

    Kathleen,

I know I recently researched this for a customer who was on GP 9.0 at the time, and it was the same in there.  I don't have any older versions readily available to test, but it would be very unusual for something like this to be removed - what would be the purpose?

Hi Thanks again Victoria - yes its on an actual transaction report that I need to see them - I have created one with Smartlist Builder in Fabrikam but we dont have it. Seems a bit pointless not having all 4 of them on there if you can report on them ! I'm also sure there were available on a previous version. !

Just a clarification - I can see them on the Accounts SmartList.  They are not there on the Account Transactions or Account Summary SmartLists.  So, realistically, if you need these on a report with dollar amounts, you would need a custom report.

In add columns window in smart list ,  click on the Selected Columns button and select All Columns. You should be able to locate user defined fields in all columns list.

I just checked both GP 2010 RTM and GP 2010 SP 1 and I can see them in both.

Thank you for your reply Victoria - I know this used to be the case but the User Defined String 1 and User Defined String 2 dont appear to be available in GP2010 for some reason !.

    Kathleen,

You should be able to see these in SmartList.  They will be called User Defined 1, User Defined 2, User Defined String 1, User Defined String 2.

I am not aware of any way to see these in FRx.
