Management Reporter Beginning Balances Not Showing in Report

Posted on by 910

I have been trying to print the begining balances in one of my reports in management reporter, i have ran the closing process in MS GP on 31/12/2010 and my current year is 2011.

The column format is designed as YTDBB for beginning balances and Periodic for first period.

When i run the report i can see only balances for the first period of the base year and the beginning balances columns are blank. i have selected the report date to be 01/01/2011.

    Ahmed,

There appears to be an issue with the fiscal periods since you are getting the bbf numbers in period 2 along with January.

Can you write up what your periods look like for 2011?

Thanks for your prompt reply. I am selecting the report date as 01/31/2011, secondly i have my current year is 2011, 2010 is my historical year. Book code is actual.

I have tried Periodic/BB for Beginning Balances and Periodic for period balance also tried to hard code the period as 01. When i select base period as 2 it shows the beginning balances but adds the amount of january as well, which is not serving my purpose.

    Ahmed,

I'm not sure why you are experiencing this. If you have prior years can you try checking those years as well? A few things to check:

    1. YTD/BB should always  return the same data based on the same year, regardless of date. Try a report date of 1/31.

    2. Check your fiscal period setup. Can you provide an example of the current year? Most customers would select a report date of 1/31/2011 rather than 1/1/2011.

    3. Verify the book code for the FD column is ACTUAL.

    4. Setup a column of PERIODIC/BB for the hardcoded periods of 1, 2, and 3. See if the bbf amounts appear in periods 2 or 3.

    5. Confirm you have installed a recent data provider as there was an issue with some bbf amounts based on account numbers being present in the gl10110 and 10111 tables in the initial release.

    Thanks

    Ryan
