Hi,

Is there nay way to find out who opened and closed a ledger calendar period in D365 F&O. I can bring in the modified by and date but not sure if thats telling me what I am after or something else?

Hi,

We have set permissions on that calendar, so that only a certain group of people can open and close it.

The modified date gives you really just the last change. So if you need to close\open it in order to let people work, you information will get lost.

2nd solution I would recommend is to use the database log.

Question is, if you want to prevent someone from changing something, then you need to work with permissions, or if it is enough to know who did it, then database log is the way to go.

Another solution is to check the setup for journal postings. F.e., it is possible to set up the system in such a way that when you post a journal in a closed period, the accounting date is moved into the next open period, preventing postings in the closed period.
