I am trying to use the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook, and I'm running into a problem. I have a test user account for which I have properly set up the email configuration to use the outlook app. I have a root organization and a child business unit to that root organization. I have a pretty lean security role that I'm assigning to my test user. This role exists at the root level and is inherited by the business unit.
When I put my test user in the root org business unit and assign him the security role I created, I can use the outlook app as I'd expect. Everything works. BUT when I put my test user in the child business unit and assign him the same role (though now inherited down to the child bu), I get a generic error from the outlook app when I try to connect to it. I need my test user to be in this child business unit for data partitioning reasons. I cannot find anything online or in documentation that suggests why this is happening or a way around it. Does anyone have any ideas? Any help is really appreciated. Thanks.
