Quoting - Add On Solution

Hi everyone,

Has anyone worked with a good Quoting solution add-on to Dynamics CRM / 365?  This does not need to be a CPQ product as there is really no configuration required.  

Some customizations the customer is looking for that I would need to do with the product:

1.  Workflow steps with alerts if quotes are sitting in specific steps and not being completed in date / time

2.  Ability to route (conditionally) to others in the organization to complete portions of the quote

3.  Multiple custom fields on the quote lines including competitor information (probably 6 fields outside of standard product, quantity, price)

4.  Pull from price list assigned to customer when quoting items

5.  Ability to create customized quote documents / proposals for the customers

6.  Deliver electronically with ability to select partial lines on quote

7.  Track success of sales representatives with multiple goals around quotes with actual vs. target around created, revenue, units, gross profit

I have looked a little at Quosal and QuoteWerks but are there any other highly recommended solutions that integrate well to Dynamics 365, are customizable, and provide strong capabilities?

    Thanks Drew,

    I have been discussing the xRM approach with our partner but I was hoping that there was a solution that required more configuring than building to reduce the timescales :)

    Hi Simon,

    I ended up building leveraging xRM and utilized custom entities for everything to provide the flexibility needed.  Only piece we did not do was #6 above.

    Key call-outs:

    1.  Leveraged Crow Editable Grids for the heads down entry of the lines

    2.  Built custom product lookup with ability to search on multiple fields and select multiple products to add to the quote

    3.  Used views to identify what items are sitting to be completed instead of workflows / alerts at this time

    4.  Utilized Cobalt Deep Clone for copying of a quote

    5.  Multiple workflows of course for a lot of other logic :)

    Overall was about 125 hours of effort to build what we needed.  Hopefully this helps you in some way.

    We have a quote tool that works entirely in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. It uses a much simpler product database so that data changes and large imports can be managed easily within one spreadsheet. It suits organisations with a large and fast moving product database e.g. distributors, manufacturers.

    The solution provides a quoting environment entirely within Microsoft Dynamics CRM. The quote creation works similar to website shopping, you can filtering products by categories, search by specific terms and add the items to the cart. The tools also includes the ability to add discounts and dynamically bundle product lines. You can then suppress the printing of the individual product lines, you can add sub totals and running totals.

    The tool integrates easily with other tools to managing complex report and printing options, electronic document signatures, integration to Sage Line 50 and Xero.

    It can show stock information e.g. stock availability, incoming stock, number in existing quotes.

    We can also generate purchase orders and match PO's to deliveries.

    Because it uses its own product database there is much easier access to the Quote Line detail to create charts, views, dashboards to meet the needs of sales, sales manager, or product manager.
