Request Quotes/Sell to internal business unit

What are the ways that you have requested quotes/sell to internal business units?  Other than as a customer/vendor.  For example, your California Sales Team requesting a quote/order to your Software Sales Team.   Thanks for your feedback.

    Hi cvandy23,

What is the underlying business process here?

Do you really sell stuff between business units within a single legal entity?

Do you need invoice documents for those sales/purchases?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Thank you.  Technically the bottom dollar is the same amount and there is only one customer.  However, each business unit involved is a profit/loss center.  In this example, California would be the only one that bills the customer, but they need to request the Software Division to begin their portion of the work and also show the profit/loss for that unit.

    Thanks.

    Hi cvandy23,

I think something like this can be solved by using financial dimensions and possibly allocations.

The important question is how you want to have this incorporated.

Let's say that California bills the customer.

Who will get the revenue attributed? Your division in Califonia or the Software division?

What about the costs? Who will bear them - the Califonian or the Software division?

I believe that with some additional details on the process we can get this solved.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
