Collection Letter reset automatically from stage 3 to 1 after upgrade

Since the upgrade, our dunning letter sequences seem to have reset, ie any dunning letters at say Stage 3 have reverted back to stage 1 for an initial letter instead of what should be a final demand...

A customer who was at letter 3 is now back to letter 1.

Is there anywhere within AX we can see what the current state of play is? or amend it?
