
Issue:
I am able to track emails however in some instances I receive the following error message especially when I click "Set regarding" on some contacts in Outlook
Error message:
An unknown error occurred while synchronizing data to outlook.Item Name = …. (Email message / Campaign subject name)
System Configuration:
OS: Windows 10
User Email Client: Outlook 2016
CRM: Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 (online)
Outlook Add-In: Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Outlook v9.0

Have you tried reinsalling the Outlook Addin to see if it solves the problem?
And you can check the CRM version and the Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook add-in version to ensure they match.
