Can Microsoft Teams Users access Dynamics 365 on a read-only basis

We recently converted to Outlook for email followed by the CRM conversion to Dynamics 365 in July 2022.  We have 18 D365 Relationship Sales Plus licenses (full access ) and 20 D365 Team Member licenses. Our company has just about completed the migration to M365 and using all the Teams functions (scheduling, phone, chat, conferencing,...).  We were told by Microsoft that the Teams users could access data/information warehoused in D365 but only as read only.  We were provided two separate URLs to access D365, one for the full license users and another for the Team Member Users.  I can only assume that there should be a third for the Teams folks.  We have not been able to get a response from Microsoft as our original contacts left the company.

Without Read-only access, we cannot take full advantage of the system. We cannot share data within our company directly out of D365, because it generates a link to the data which can only be accessed by individuals with some level of license.

Does anyone have a similar set-up where you share information within your organization with non-licensed staff? And if so, is it through Microsoft Teams and is there a separate way to access?

Any information on this will be a great help. Thanks!

    hey!

The information provided is partially true:  "Users with Team can access Dynamics data." is missing: "as long as this is done within MS Teams", so the full sentence would be "users with MS Teams can access Dynamics 365 data, as long as this is done within MS Teams".   You have a couple documents on learn.microsoft.com/.../teams-install-app  and learn.microsoft.com/.../embed-model-driven-teams-personal

As you can see from those documentes, you'll need to add the App to MS Teams, and won't be possible to use all capacities (Embedded canvas app won' work, etc).

Another approach would be to create your own canvas app on make.powerapps.com that access Dynamics 365 data, and then add this app to MS Teams which is similar to the previous documented one.  Documentation is on learn.microsoft.com/.../embed-teams-app
