Power BI license for viewing embedded reports in Business Central

I've been looking into embedding a Power BI report into Business Central. I understand that in order to create a report and publish it to a workspace you need (at least) a Power BI Pro license. This makes sense.

However, it is unclear if the user that is only viewing the embedded report in BC also needs a PRO license in order to see it. I know this is the case with Dynamics 365, but so far I haven't been able to find a straight answer to this question anywhere.

So, to reiterate: the end user is only viewing the embedded report in BC, not creating his own reports or sharing it with other end users. In that case, will a Power BI FREE license suffice? Or do they still need a Power BI PRO license?

Hi,

The standard free PBI license available with Business Central allows:

Non-shared reports

Simple report refreshing with limits.

You need to purchase a Power BI PRO license to:

Share reports within the organization

Set up extensive refreshing

Install Power BI apps.
