How to Automate Line Item Receipt in Purchasing

Hi:

In the end user's purchase order (PO) approval workflow process in Business Central, the PO should be released and line items should be received when the PO is approved.

Is it possible to automate the line item receipt, then, at the time of PO approval?

Thanks!

John

Hi, I guess this needs to be customized, as far as I understand there is no automatic posting feature in Workflow. This requires the automatic execution of the posting procedure when the PO's Status becomes Release. (You can add the code in the OnAfterValidate event)

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

Out of the box you can automatically post sales/purchase invoices after its been approved in a workflow.

To only receive the items you will need a customization to create custom Workflow Event Responses, or you can try a power automate flow.

To automatically post sales/purchase invoices with a Business Central workflow:

    1. In the Workflow Event/Response Combinations put a checkmark here to create a new combination of posting a sales or purchase document once its approved

    2. Add the new response in your workflow:
