I'm researching F&O OOTB functionality for validation of projects and project categories. Specifically, I'm looking for the validation to apply within expense reporting. Wondering if anyone has experience with this and can point me in the right direction. I came upon an article but haven't been able to get it working.

In Project Management and Accounting, you can utilize Project/category validation groups for journal entry access control. This table allows you to grant or restrict access to certain categories or projects for entering transactions in journals.
We usually use this table to avoid posting fail project categories mot actual projects.

Next to the Project/category validation groups, there is a parameter and a setting on each project. Check the next settings:
- Project management and accounting parameters > General > Validation group > Project category : Choose Mandatory or Lookup.
- Project detail form > Setup > Other information > Enable category validation.

Thank you for your reply. I had followed the walkthrough for setting up the validation groups, but still it did not work. I believe this issue is highlighted in Andre's response below regarding the setup for validation group of mandatory or lookup. Thank you again for offering your help!

I believe you found my issue. Changing the setup for Project/category to mandatory appears to have worked. I'll come back and mark the solution once I do more testing. Thank you so much!
