SYMPTOM:

Users unable to log into the Edit in Excel add-in and getting the following error:

AADSTS9002326: Cross-origin token redemption is permitted only for the 'Single-Page Application' client-type. Request origin: 'az689774.vo.msecnd.net'.

Trace ID: 246a1989-43ll-3th7-db98-un675zzc2c22

Correlation ID: 96c99517-4385-40c2-b845- ffda1a432400

 RCA:

Starting in July 2022, Microsoft will roll out an update to the Excel add-in. The update will help to secure the connection between the add-in and Business Central. The update requires that you modify your organization's Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) configuration so that users can continue using the add-in.

Solution:

  1. Sign in to Azure portal.
  2. Select Azure Active Directory.
  3. Under Manage, select App Registrations.
  4. Select the app that was registered to enable users to sign in to the Excel add-in.
  5. Under Manage, select Manifest.
  6. In the manifest, find the following "url"entry and change "type": "Web" to "type": "Spa":

{    "url": https://az689774.vo.msecnd.net/dynamicsofficeapp/v1.3.0.0/*,    "type": "Spa"}

    Hi Islam

I've many tenants and wonder it works on all tenants without any App registration in AD.

I've one tenant giving the below errors to all of the users, even the permission in the system is the same for all users.

Another message to other users or to the same user but on different laptop

Finally, the I couldn't find the following in the Manifest

    Hi Mahmoud,

    this configuration for on-premises

for the error you are facing it seems the Users set up Centralized Deployment of the Excel add-in.

so please kindly disable ‘User Centralized Deployment’ and ask the user to download a new excel file

    Unfortunately, still the same issue.

I'm facing that in only 1 tenant, I've many others and all working great without doing any thing extra.

please be sure you log in with the correct account related to this tenant, if you still face this issue please contact your CSP and open a case with the Microsoft Support Team

Thank you Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

Yes, every setup is correct, and we discovered that it's working only for 1 user from 30 others.

Hence, we opened a ticket and waiting for a respose.

Thank you for your time and efforts

Dears, the solution is here and it's so simple, in the Assisted Setup you need to disable centralized deployment, not only removing the App from: Microsoft 365 admin center

We had the same issue with a customer.

As a partner we would get the permissions error image above.

the customer would get the incorrect setup image error.

as soon as we turned off the centralized deployment option it worked.

( they actually had to turn it off, we did not have permissions to do so )
