"Include Multicurrency Info" Option in Posting Setup

We are using GP with Multicurrency. I found this option that we do NOT have turned on. What does it do? For example, does it add functional and originating currency fields to the "Cash Receipts Edit List"? We would like to add both cash field descriptions to this report. If that is what it does, is it too late to turn the option on? What are the implications?

Option....

"If you plan to print multicurrency versions of your posting journals, be sure to mark the Include Multicurrency Info option in the Posting Setup window."

Hi Thomas

By marking the include Multicurrency Info, you will see both the originating and functional currency on various reports.

So for example, with the box unmarked and you post a GL journal entry, you will see the GL Posting Journal.

With the box marked you will see the GL Multicurrency Posting Journal.

I recommend having it marked when using Multicurrency.

Also, note that you may need to ensure on your data entry windows that you have the view set to originating currency to see the value you enter and not in functional.

Hi Thomas,

Before you turn this ON in your production environment, I'd strongly suggest that you carefully review it in a TEST bed system (not just a test company, but a full TEST environment, as MC makes a lot of changes in the System DB DYNAMICS).

Turning ON MC involves way more than just checking a box...
