I have the following 3 scenarios. Would request a setup that need to be done:

Scenario - A:

Date Demand Sales Order Qty For a Single Item MRP Re-Run Values
01-Jan-2018 150
13-Jan-2018   70 80
15-Jan-2018   5 75
20-Jan-2018   25 50
27-Jan-2018   50
01-Feb-2018 200
04-Feb-2018     200
01-March-2018 250
01-April-2018 200

In the above data:

a. The Demand has been Manual entry in the Master Planning

b. The Sales Order Quantity are different Sales Orders are created for the same item in different dates .

c. MRP Re-Run is the Master Planning being run in the defined dates.

Configuration Done:

1. Reduction Key method used in Master Plan : "Transactions - reduction key"

2. Coverage Group : Reduce Forecast By : Orders

Problem faced:

a. The MRP Rerun values at 13-Jan-2018 showing 80 but when we are re-running MRP on 15-Jan-2018 , the values are not considering the total sales orders quantities i.e. 70+5.

b. Similar problem is perceived in the consecutive MRP - Re run dates.

Would request if I am missing anything .......

You would need to post net requirement screen shots to see.

MRP will not consider demand in the past that is a forecast, so it depends what your "Demand" entered in MRP is. It will consider outstanding Sales orders. I am not sure which part of the demand you mean when you say "it is not considering the value it is mentioned".

MRP you should be planning forward, so move all of your demand forward and plan as though it is in the future to understand, trying to work out what you should have done is harder.

    Hi Steven,

    Please find the screenshots as:

    a. Net Requirements :

    Open-Sales-Orders.png

    b. Open Sales Orders:

    Open-Sales-Orders.png

    c. Manual Demand Inserted:

    Manual-Demand.png

According to the manual demand , the requirement is 150 . The sales orders quantities are 100 ,5 and 25. Now the reduction key is set to orders so the plan should have shown 20 instead of 75. In the master plan the reduction principle is set to Transaction - reduction .

Am I missing any configuration . Please suggest.

Your net requirements are not showing the sales orders - why not?

You have configuration inventory dimension but I don't see it on sales line . Could it be the configuration value are different?

You should run net requirement from sales line instead of item master to try where the sales line hit to master planning
