Scheduled Updates - Can They Go Early?

Posted on by 15

We've got a customer going live on BC on May 1. We've done all the UAT and training (as well as FDA validation) on the March release. We have to insure that the April released doesn't get applied before May 1. If we set the scheduled update for May 22nd to apply the 2023 Wave 1 release, will it happen on that date or is there a chance that Microsoft could still roll it out earlier?

One of our technical people says he's seen those dates ignored and updates applied before the scheduled date. I am wondering if it matters whether it's a production or sandbox environment

Thanks,

RE: Scheduled Updates - Can They Go Early?

    Hi Kevin,

You can safely set the scheduled date for your update to May 22nd. Then you will be in line with the policy that you have to schedule an update no later than June 1st.

I have never experienced that Microsoft do the update before the scheduled date.  So In my experience you will be fine with what you have planned.

Good luck with your go live and keep up the good work!
