Dear Experts,

I have a question 2 or 3 times or maybe much time i changed posted quantity from AOT tables.Just Example is our warehouse team posted recieved quantity 350 by mistake after that they requested me to change it from the table so it will show on the form or in the report 300. Changing manually Eighter from AOT tables or from SQL SERVER DB writing query will affect on the system??. I mean to say that if i change any quantity its posted effect will already have gone to the ledger or hit chart of accounts using posting profiles or any main accounts using in item groups??.

Best Regards,

Shabir Ahmad

You should never change any posted amounts like that. In most countries that could be even illegal simce you are bypassing the normal ledger processes and tampering with historical data.

And there's a high chance that you end up with corrupt data - ledger balances wrong, tax calculations wrong, warehouse balances wrong or something like that.

Just post corrective transactions via journals.

    Hi Nikolaos Mäenpää,

Thank you so much for your reply, ok i got your point, now what should i do to reverse or adjust that post data and if i want to adjust or reverse that quantity will it be from taking main accounts as an offset account or reverse that and post it using profit and loss accounts.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi Shabir,

If the warehouse team have posted a packing slip, you can correct it by going to the packing slip journal.  if they have registered the quantity, you can unregister a parial quantity.
