Inventory dimension Site is mandatory and must consequently be specified.

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

I try to issue a Sales Order and I receive: 'Inventory dimension Site is mandatory and must consequently be specified'. In order to fix it I went to Released Products->Site Specific Order Settings and defined Sales Warehouse (see pict) but it didn't work.

Any idea?

    Hi,

If you face this error in D365 even though the site field has been filled in the PO or SO you created, the problem will be solved when you fill in the storage dimension- site in the intercompany sales/purchase order header created by the system in the other company.

    Thanks,

    Okan

If you are receiving this error while calculating statement please match your DIM ID and Retail Variant ID , Both are same with Barcode attached variant ID and DIM ID . check your Retailtransactionsalestrans Form through AOT and execute this process

While this is an old thread - I was looking for an answer and didn't find it here but managed on my own.

First off of course this comes if you haven't specified site on sales order lines tab: product field Site (values defaulted from header where it is defaulted from the customer)

My issue was because I was setting up inter company and you need to ensure that you have all the default values on both the vendor and the customer. including other fields such as language. In order to ensure that IC is setup is setup correctly try and create both a purchase order and a sales order to see if they each on their own comes out with all the necessary values

    3666.SO1.pngHi Ludwig,

I delete the Sales Order and I created a new one. I tried also in Sales Order Line to choose 'Product and Supply' tab but the same message pop up it didn't allow me to proceed.

    Thanks,

    Michalis
