Workflow Tables 2015

Ok, this is a bit of a pain, but, we had a situation where in the Workflow tables for one of our companies were - lets be nice and say - damaged.

In trying to recover these tables, we have now lost the data in those tables altogether.

We have never had any 'live' data in the Workflow - we are working in a TEST environment running GP2015 while the live system is runing GP2013.

I want to 'recover' the Workflow tables - I have the list - from another company database, can I simply IMPORT that data from those tables and carry on?  Is there something missing if I do this?

I want to thank my friends in community for the quick emails - they all reminded me that prior to 'importing' from a valid company database that I need to be sure to 'drop' the existing ones that I wanted to replace.

So, once I dropped all the WF and WFI tables, I proceeded to IMPORT using SQL Management Studio all the same tables from one of the operational Workflow company databases.

While I asked and answered - rather than delete the question, I leave it as a post for others who may in some future time, make a similar mistake.

The problem with this is that the Workflow windows, while populated, do not respond correctly.

When I try to create a new Workflow, I can not add the Managers, if I can not add the managers, I can not create the steps to make the Workflow.

I am 50% of the way to complete.

    Hi Bill,

I'd check the table WF40200 that contains the  AD UserListGuid for the configured GP users in each company... if that doesn't match, it could be an issue.

Also have a look at the table change list that was published for 2013R2 by MS about the all the new WF tables... maybe there is something that will catch your eye :

Thanks Beat - I did look at all the tables listed in your reply.

In the end, after reviewing all the tables, and attempting to copy them from operational company database, I was forced to restore the database from an earlier version.

I needed to do a bit of catch up on my configuration, but in the end I was able to make it work.

Good news is followed all the good advice about backups and had one from just later Sunday night.

All is well and we are operational.
