Deployment failed for file | Power BI Report

Hi,

I am working on dev machine and trying to deploy the powerbi report from System Administration--->Setup--->Entity Store

I am getting this warning when I navigate to System Administration--->Setup--->Entity Store

Warning:

This function should be used to deploy DirectQuery Power BI reports authored with Entity store into a production instance of Finance and Operations.

Question 1 : So this function is only use for Production instance not for Dev Instance?

Question: 2

I am getting error  "Deployment failed for file  " When I click Deployed PowerBI files

What should I do to fix this error?

    Hi Rizwan Ahmed,

    1. Yes, you should deploy the report in a D365FO production environment using the Deploy Power BI report files function in the system.

    2.Please make sure you have a Power BI pro license.

    It means  we cannot deploy power bi files from from System Administration--->Setup--->Entity Store in dev or test environment.

    Right?

    We have to publish from PowerBI desktop

    Yes , try to deploy it from production environment.

    Ok I will deploy the powerbi file from the System Administration--->Setup--->Entity Store in production environment

    but what is the best practice to deploy the powerbi files in DEV or test?
