We recently deployed Dynamics 365 on-premise. We are using ADFS 3.0 for authentication. Everything works fine if I browse to the Dynamics URL (crm.company.com) in a web browser.
We deployed the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook to a couple test mailboxes. When we click the Dynamics 365 button in the Outlook toolbar a "Windows Security - iexplore.exe" authentication prompt appears. The problem is that the wrong info is listed in the prompt. Instead of "Connecting to crm.company.com" it is trying to connect to the CRM server FQDN, e.g. "Connecting to crmserver.domain.local". We are not able to get past this authentication prompt with any credentials.
Does anyone know how we can change the App for Outlook to connect to the web URL and not the server FQDN? Thank you.

We are having the same issue except the url the App is pointing to is Orgname.domain.com which doesn't exist. The web url is servername.domain.com . We have no idea where the orgname.domain.com came from. It's not in our IFD settings.
Hi,
we have the same issue. Do you have any further information (i.e. ticket @MS Support)?
Thanks
// UPDATE //
We "resolved" that issue by copying the database and importing the copied database. This time we set the database name exactly as the organization name.
We are experiencing the exact same issue! I will let you know if we stumble upon a solution...
