Filtering by Required Atendees Field in Advanced Find

When adding the 'Required Attendees' filter by a specific user in Advanced Find I keep getting one of those ugly Microsoft Errors..... Does anyone know if there is a work around? I need to see the results of one this field as well as owner is equal to a certain user..

Basically I get the error with the following logic:

Notes

Owner Equals Mike Smith

Related Area (Appointment)

Owner = Mike Smith

Or

Required Atendees Equals Mike Smith

I want to list all Notes that are regarding appointments where either one of those fields equals Mike Smith
