We are running GP 2013 with the Manufacturing Module. We are just beginning to use the ECM functionality.

Two questions:

First. In the ECM setup/configuration window there is a check box that controls whether the EC # will be automatically assigned or not. Problem is it is checked and greyed out.

I cannot find a solution to make the check box active to uncheck it. Any ideas?

Second, the routing function is very nice but have not been able to find if there is a way for each user on the routing to be notified that an EC needs there attention. Is there a means to automatically notify the routing users?

I am unaware of a way to chance the EC# auto assign setting.

As for emailing users about their routing step you should take a look at Business Alerts, or if you have a solid SQL resource, go direct to SQL. Here's a link to an example of Business Alerts usage.

But what about the Change Management?

I see a BOM revision, but you can't change the Rev Level in the MO.

How do you handle ECM and supporting new and old customers?

Hi Duffy,

The Automatic Change Numering seeting can no longer be changed after you've used the ECR Edit window.

It's the Engineering Change Request Edit window (Transactions>>ECM>>Request Edit)
