How to know actually consumed Device CAL license

Hi All,

Our customer has bought around 32 device CAL for 25 computers. Now as they are going to renew the license they want to know how many actually device cal they are using.

1. IS there any way to know actually consumed device CAL?

2.How many users can access one device CAL?any max limit on user?

    Hi Shri,

    What type of devices are used? Is it related to e.g. warehouse or retail? You should know the numbers by counting them. POS devices are setup in the application, so that could help a bit.

    When you have a device, the number of users on one device is unlimited, assuming there will be only one using the device at a time.

    Licensing works in a different way. You first (virtually) assign a license to a device (which is when a license is 'consumed') and only then you can start using the device.

    There is no limit of users who can use a single device, but there are strict requirements on what the device can be and how it can be used.

    what is the way to define the POS device, and assign a license device to this POS device.
