Options for charging sales distribution fee without owning stock

Posted on by 2,418

Hi All

We have 3P supplier stock that we don't own and create sales invoices to customers. However our revenue is only 25% of the sale value. In this scenario:

1. Need to create an invoice for the customer at full price - $100

2.Only recognise sales 25% - $25

Basically we are providing a service like Amazon where suppliers can list their products. Perhaps there is an APP or we need a totally customised solution

Hi, does the customer still need to pay $100? If yes, standard systems don't have this functionality as far as I know.

Of course, you can manually adjust the account amount in the General Journal after each posting, although this is not recommended.

PS: Generally, the Invoice Discount % feature will be used in this case, but the customer only charges $25

Hopefully other experts can give you better advice.

    Thanks.
