Outlook Client Peformance and Stability

Posted on by 210

We Have recently upgraded the outlook clients for users to CRM 2016 Plug-in and outlook has since has a slowness to performance and sometimes takes 5 seconds to open an email within outlook we have also installed Service pack 1 KB3154952 . If you disable the CRM add in outlook responds to normal behaviour email opens straight away. Can someone advise on how to boost performance and stability to outlook for crm 2016

Are you utilizing Server Side Synchronization setup?  I would suggest this as you will normally see better performance with this approach.

    Comment from post:

Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook can still be used to manually track records (using the Track button or the Set Regarding button) even if synchronization is being handled through Server Side Synchronization. According to Microsoft, using Server Side Synchronization with Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook can improve the performance of CRM for Outlook.

At this time, neither Server Side Synchronization nor the Email Router supports internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) email.

Because Server Side Synchronization uses asynchronous services for mailbox synchronization, scaling up Async server might be required for optimal performance.

It is Microsoft’s recommendation to use Server Side Synchronization for integrating email systems with CRM.

    Thanks much,

    Hi Alexio

Whats your setup, are you using Terminal Clients or hardware desktops? What version Office / Outlook? Do you have Cached mode enabled for outlook mailboxes?

    Best Wishes, Raz
