Time sheet daily description

Hello. Prospective BC user here.

We want to allow team members to fill in their time sheets with details per day. The standard page seems to only allow a description per week per task, but that's not enough detail.

Is it possible to [easily] change that behaviour?

Thank you. Tristan.

    Hello,

On the Time Sheet you have the Work Type Code, Job Task No., an Description. You also have Line Comments you could add. What are you looking for above this on a time sheet?

    Thanks,

    Steve

Would details per day not be a line per. The current description feature uses a drill down to a specific page based on whether you are posting time for a job, service, assembly or resource type line. All the fields that the page exposes are on the timesheet line and can be added to the regular view. It would be a small page development. Here is a guide on doing this: docs.microsoft.com/.../devenv-page-ext-object

If you intend on allowing users to enter time with a mobile device you will want to do more development. The “worksheet” type page the timesheet is based on does not work with the mobile app. If you recreate it as a “document” type page then you get a valid mobile experience too - same as a purchase/sales order as an example.

The description covers an enter week of time boxes. I was hoping to have a description box for each entry (perhaps several entries/descriptions/times per day for a given task as appropriate).

Thanks. I'll look into extension objects and AL language.

Each cell for the days is not a real field. It is just on the page. You will need to rework the page to get a line per day

Looks like I need to learn page development and how to create document pages for mobile experience. Thank you so much for the pointers.
