CRM 2016 on premise organization import stuck in Update users..

Hello.

We are in the process of completion of our 2016 implementation.

However we are facing an issue while doing the final organization import on our production servers.

The import process starts and then gets stuck in the Update users step. We kept the process running for almost 4-5 hours without completion. However this issue was not encountered during the setup of our dev, UAT and pre-production instances. No error in the event viewer. Any urgent assistance on the same will be highly appreciated.

    Hello,

I would suggest to turn on SQL Profiler and check if update is still going. If it's not you will have to restart import with turned on SQL Profiler to get an answer what goes wrong.

    Good luck.

    1. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSCRM
    2. Right-click MSCRM, point to
New, and then click DWORD Value.
    3. Name this DWORD value as "OptimizeOrgImport"
    4. Right-click OptimizeOrgImport, and then click Modify.
    5. In the Value data box, type
      1, and then click OK.
    6. On the File menu, click
      Retry to import your organisation

Hi @Sreejith, Just wanted to check how this issue was resolved. I am facing exactly the same issue now.

Hello Mohamed. We did not get any fix for this issue. Since we were on a tight timeline we imported only the admin users and updated the other users using a console application.

The console reads all the active users and then updates the user name

Eg if the user name is user@domain.com, we update the user id to user@domain.loc.

We have around 300 users and the console completes in around 3 hours.

We are now in D365 on azure stack and going online this year.

    Good luck.
