User can edit and delete Opportunities

Hey Guys,

I have an interesting but also confusing issue with the editing of opportunities.

I have an User who is able to edit and delete the opportunities of some other users. These opportunies he can work on have nothing in common, but the fact that my special user is the owner of the account which is associated with the relevant data records.

But there are also opportunities of accounts, where he is the owner of the account but not of the opportunity, which he can't edit or delete.

The data records are definitely not shared with the considered user.

The strange thing is that I tested this on another user in the System and gave him the exactly same roles and wasn't able to reproduce this behaviour. Because with the roles he has in the system, he shouldnt be able do work on other opportunities but his own at all.

I am thankfull for any helpfull suggestions of the community!

    Have you found a solution for your problem? I'm experiencing the same issue with phone calls, and haven't found a way to solve this!

    In some cases they are in the same business Unit and in some other they are not.

    No, he isnt part of any team with this rights.

    HI ,

    Are there any AccessTeams which you might have created earlier and added this user to that team .

    Another reason can be if the user is sharing the same business unit and your role might be allowing him to edit those due to the same .

    Hi,

    Maybe he is in some Team that has such permissions? Do you have Hierarchical security configured in your organization? If this is on-premise organization, can you access PrincipalObjectAccess table and check for the opportunity that he can delete (but shouldn't) the entires in this table?

    I am not sure for every data set, but at least some of these "false behaving" records are definetely not created by the user and he wasn't the owner of them at any time.

    No, the records are not shared with the user or anyone else.

    No, there is no relation between the Opportunities and the considered user.

    It's theese thing that the most Opportunities, where he isn't the owner, work correct and he can't edit or delete them. So with my understanding it's not possible that something with the roles are not right...

    Oh, and have these items ever been shared with the user?

    Alternately, did the user originally own them and reassign them?  There is a setting to automatically share after reassignment that might be impacting things.

    Have you tried removing the user's roles until it stops?  Might help identify if there is a wonky role.

    Also, have they been added as a stakeholder to the opportunities, or are related to it in any other way?

    He is just part of one team and it's a team where every user in the system is in.

    Furthermore this team has no additonal roles.

    No, there is no hierachy security activated or used.

    Is the user in question a member of any teams?  Is that user added as a team member on those opportunities?  Is there any hierarchy security set up where that user might be listed as the manager of other users?
