Please refer to following blog to modify sitemap using sitemap designer to add dashboard

Sumit
In your default solution, go to Client Extensions and Open Site Map. Select the Area that you want to add the dashboards to, and click on New SubArea.
On the SUB AREA properties on the right, on the Type (Select a type) dropdown select Dashboard as the type. Give it a title and a unique id. You can also select the default dashboard to open when the user clicks on it. Save your changes and Publish.
If you need you can set additional settings under advanced, such as Privileges or more.
Stay up to date on forum activity by subscribing. You can also customize your in-app and email Notification settings across all subscriptions.
