Is it even possible not to use the Apply concept in RM?

Hi All,

I found in some place where users are not applying payment/credit against sales invoices in most cases!

I thought the Apply concept is fundamental  for the aging reports

my question if the apply is not used., from the reporting point of view how it is possible to find out if a particular invoice has been paid or not.

and  what if an invoice is partially paid?

Thank you,

    Hello Alaa

You are totally right, the apply process is fundamental from a financial analysis point of view, specifically for the aging report. I have seen several clients not considering the apply process for both Accounts Payable and Receivable.

As long as the apply process is not well considered, you would not get to know if a specific invoice is fully paid, partially paid or not paid at all. Of course you can still build a customized report to list all debit and credit transactions (customer statement).

I would suggest another alternative though, which is quite effective and efficient, it is the "AR Auto apply", it  Allows you to Mass Apply posted RM Credit Documents to posted RM Debit Documents, you can select a range of customers or date range as well. You can get this scheduled at the end of each month/ quarter in order to provide the required and desired information in your AR module.

To download the RM Auto Apply, follow the link below; Dynamics GP Free Tools - RM Auto Apply

That makes more sense, Thank you Mahmoud!

BTW, the link for RM Auto Apply is broken, Is it part of PSTL?

I think you can apply bulk of records based on Document Number or Due date by clicking the Auto-Apply button from  Apply Sales Documents(Transactions-->Sales-->Apply Sales Documents) window within GP.

    Hope this helps!!!

Check the following link for the PSTL, down the page there are other links for additional free tools:

One important note to be considered, in order to reach the link you need to use a "Partner Source" account, not a customer source.

    Your feedback is highly appreciated,
