Invoking Business Rule from a BPF Dynamics 365 -CRM on Prem

Good afternoon,

I am working on a BPF in the on prem version, I am trying to add a Business Rule on a stage " " I clicked on the "Business rules for this stage's entity" it does display the business rule, I can select the business rule but the logic I have in the business rule is not working on the record. What I am trying to do is, I have an option set field, based on the field I am trying to hide/show fields under the BPF? Is that a supported functionality?

Thanks.

    Hi,

You need to create Business Rules in the entity where the BPF has attached not in the BPF entity.

Show/Hide functionality is client side so make sure you create BR in the  main entity and the fields associated with the BR  should be available in the forms if the BR scope is forms and all forms.

Creating BR in the BPF  entity will not work logically as this entity created by system and its does not same as main entity.

    Thank you Goutam.

So I changed my BR Condition Source to use the entity vs the Business Process added the field in the form. It's hiding/showing the fields in the form. But the fields are not displayed under BPF. Do I need to add the fields that need to be hide/show in the BPF?

Yes correct add the same fields in the BPF , if you don't want to show fields in the forms you can hide the fields by going to  field properties of the forms.

Thank you, Goutam. Adding the fields in the BPF and changing the BR to run in the entity was what I missed. I really appreciate the help.
