Hello All,
I am trying to setup a manufacturing process where i buy 1 roll of coil which is 700,000mm.
I need to cut it into sheets which are 725mm long. So from 1 roll of coil i can make 965 sheets.
I have setup an item which is coil with its unit of measures as Roll and MM.
I have setup an item which is 725mm plate with its unit of measure as a sheet and a bom to consume the roll and a route to cut it. Once i load the roll on the cutting machine, it creates 965 sheets.
How do i put this together in a bom and route to ensure i achieve the desired output of 965 sheets per 1 Roll.
cheers
Sandy
Hi
Let me make sure I have the correct info
1) Your based unit of measure is mm for this item.
2) Your purchase unit of measure is Roll
3) in Item card you have defined that one roll = 700,000 mm.
4) If above is correct then every time you receive one roll BC adds 700,000 mm to inventory.
No for BOM setup:
1) You cut item is sheet.
2) Now in BOM you can add the first item and then enter 725.3886 which consumes 725.886 mm of sheet.
3) I know above 725.3886 yield less than 700k. You can go to item card for the first item then Rounding Precision and change that to 0.0001 or alternatively you can go to 0.000001 and then enter 725.388601 this way you can make sure each roll produce 965
For routing you can have any routing. Like cut or etc since it does not impact inventory.
