Refresh model in Dev VM

Hi,

I worried I may have some corrupted objects in the model. Is it possible before I download the latest code, I just delete the model folder in my local VM? Redeploy a new VM is not an option due to I use a local VM (downloaded from LCS), and it will take a lot of time to update the VM.

Thanks,

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Yuji,

yes, you can delete your custom model folder in PackagesLocalDirectory and then do a "Get Latest" on source control explorer. Just make sure you have no pending changes or you'll lose them, and to close VS and stop IIS (there's some files that won't delete if IIS is not stopped).

You can delete folder and do get latest or another option is  while doing get latest overwrite all files.

    Hi Yuji,

I think you can try to use Modelutil to delete folder in PackagesLocalDirectory .

You can refer this blog: stoneridgesoftware.com/.../

Just undoing all pending changes and then getting latest should fix it.

Second option is to delete your workspace mapping for /AOSService/PackagesLocalDirectory, then delete all your custom package folders from that directory, then remap the folder in VS and get latest.

    Hi Yuji,

For model deletion use modelutil.exe delete command and delete the folder after stopping service. then build and sync.

For Package deletion on dev environment , just stop the AOS service, delete the package folder inside the PackagesLocalDirectory , then start service, build and sync.

However, if there are some DB changes (for example, addition of fields in the table or created a new table altogether) and DB synchronization is already complete, then DB changes do not go away with model delete.
