BC 21.0.46256.46853 - Edit in Excel changed behaviour - Jobs

Posted on by 40

Hi all,

In BC 21.0.46256.46853 I have an issue with the "Edit in Excel" function, in most tables I can't add a new line.

In below example I try to add a new job task and publish that. When I click publish it says that changes to "write protected fields will not be saved"

It was possible in version 20, ss this a change from Microsoft or an error ?

The lookup function still works, and it lets me choose the correct Job No.

Hi, this is a known issue about using Edit In Excel feature in BC21.

    More details:

I saw from another post that this issue was resolved last week.

    Hope this info helps.
    Thanks.

    its weird

    in sales order lines

    i create a new SO

    add an item line

then open the sales lines in excel,

the first try was adding the item, item no, location, qty, document no, line no and doc type

    error

then added doc no, line no, doc type, publish, then add the item, item no location qty and everything works

This same issue is also in the Sales Order where you can't add line items as the Document No and Line No fields are read only.
