how can I make tax exemption number mandatory based on specific sales tax group?

I am looking to see if there is a standard functionnality that can validate the tax exemption number but only for 1 specific salex tax group. Not based on a country.

For an example: a user selects tax group BCPST_EX for the customer, this tax group is submitted to have a mandatory tax exemption number that must be putten on the customer master too.

I want the system to give an error if the user choses this tax group but omits to add the exemption number.

I have tried the foreigh trade parameters to use in combination with AR parameter Domestic + EU member states and it is really not designed to work for North America's purpose. It is strict to the countries of EU for statistical purposes.

Unfortunately, there is no standard functionality available that can handle your requirement. The only option you have is implementing a system modification.
