Using Account Schedules in Dynamics 365, can a user change the report format (i.e. portrait or landscape) before generating the report? Or does this require a custom report to be created?
Ben,
My gut tells me two things, if you created the Report as a Custom Layout the properties can be altered to make it fit on a single page. Another thought is to take with a Developer as you are calling a standard Report and the print option should allow for compression in the properties.
Maybe another colleague on the Forum can assist that is a developer.
Thanks,
Steve
Thanks for the response but it still prints on 2 pages. I tried updating it because it really should be able to fit on one page.
I'm looking for a solution that is actually in Business Central where you can change your print orientation and have the reports fit to one page. Not sure how difficult this would be to add as this feature already exists in every other product they make.
Kat,
When I am printing my Account Schedules, I can alter the page orientation in the print settings. Below is an Income Statement that has months across the columns so I want landscape. You can see I am changing the orientation in printer settings.
Hope this helps.
I don't see the option at run-time. I don't know if this is the best solution, but client wanted portrait ALWAYS. So I made a new report layout for report 25 (Account Schedule) and changed the report definition to portrait, shrunk the width of the body of the report to 7.5" (with 0.5" right and left margins). Then in Report Layout Selection I set report 25 to use this new layout always (instead of the built in layout).
I don't see this option when I go to print. Was this option removed?
Hi Mark,
When viewing either the PDF or Word layout of the report, when you select PRINT, you have the option of changing the layout orientation to either portrait or landscape.
Hi Jennifer,
You mentioned "you can edit the report orientation if needed before printing to the printer".
Where can I find how to edit the report orientation?
Thanks!
Mark
Hello Kat,
When creating or using Account Schedule you don't specify an orientation, the backend code will default an orientation based on the report (auto portrait/landscape). For example you can print the Balance Sheet to pdf or word, both will default in Landscape, however, you can edit the report orientation if needed before printing to the printer.
Also, I wanted to make sure and share this documentation in case the user is trying to print directly to the printer: madeira.microsoft.com/.../ui-specify-printer-selection-reports

Jennifer Reinhardt
