I just Double click on the Ax Client shortcut, also i saved the Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.ReportConfiguration.axc file on the desktop in order to use it to access AX. the AX configuration utility is not using the original but the one we created and which is exported to my desktop!
Is it possible to get the log error of the workflow create/edit window? how? taking into consideration that the event viewer is not recording any log error regarding this issue.
thank you for your continuous support.
The link was intended to show you how to refresh the services for your AX configuration, the part for the reporting instance is not relevant.
How are you starting your AX? Do you just double-click the shortcut that points to Ax32.exe? Do you have an AXC file provided after the executable in the Shortcuts' Properties window? How does your AX Configuration Utility screen look like? You may save a screenshot as a file and attach it to your post to show. (I am just curious if you have created a new configuration, or it is the "Original")
I agree with you that Uninstall/reinstall AOS is not recommended but because i am using a test server. anyway i did refresh for WCF services without errors, also i exported the configutation and put it in ssrs folder as mentioned in the above link but without success.
Reports are working properly but iam not able to create/edit a workflow.
Uninstall/reinstall in AX for such issues is quite useless to be honest. The solution is the above stated, Unexpected error comes for workflow setup if your WCF settings are not correctly generated or your system is not error-free. The WCF refresh steps are mentioned also in the documentation:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh389774.aspx
Describing the steps of what exactly did you do to cover the areas I have mentioned would help to troubleshoot of what you did wrong.
Thanks again Viloms for your reply.
Please note that i did the above but the error still the same. Also i uninstalled AOS and re-installed it but the error still exist.
Is there anyway to know the exact error/the source of the error? because there is no errors in the event viewer.
Your support is highly appreciated
You need to refresh the WCF configuration in your AX Client Configuration Utility. Or if you use an AXC file to run the AX client directly, then you must import that configuration to the configuration utility, refresh the WCF services, Apply changes, then export it to the AXC file. Re-running the client afterwards would allow you to open the Workflow editor.
Thank you for your reply.
i am facing the following error:
An unexpected error has occurred while opening the workflow. See the event log on the AOS and contact your system administrator to resolve the issue.
i am not able to see the source of this error, even in windows event viewer. How can i know what is missing in order to be able to create/edit a workflow?
AX already has Workflow as an integral part of it, there is no need to download or install anything really.
You may find all the details of setting it up in the documentation available online:
