How do I change the default value for a check box?

Hello,

The "Mekorma MICR Check Printing" Window has a checkbox called "Use Copy Printer" as shown below.

The default value for the checkbox is unchecked.

We would like to change the default to be checked.

Can I do this with Modifier or will I need to use VBA Code?

VBA code is no longer going to be supported in future release of GP so do not use that. You can use either GP Power Tools(GPPT) from Winthrop Development Consultants or use a little C# code to set default values.

Use GP Power Tools.

A trigger on the Window Pre event can set the checkbox to true.

It would take a couple of minutes to do.

You can do it with VSTools/C# code.

Hi Almas

Install GPPT on your system and see how quickly and simply you can do it.

No external development environments, no additional deployment steps or future upgrading needed.

So much easier than Dexterity, VBA or VSTools.

We do have GP Power Tools installed and we use and like that. I've never tried creating a trigger with the tool but I will attempt to do so. Thank you everybody for your suggestions!

Hello David,

Surprisingly, all these years I never worked for any client who have GPPT, so never get a chance to use this, and mostly we do more complex customizations so usually use dexterity or VSTools.

May be some day will use it. :)

Hi Almas

Install it on your system. You can activate the free 30 day trial period.

Or if you only have the Sample Company installed, it will work without keys.

At least have a look so you know why it is better for customisations that Dexterity, VBA or VSTools combined.

PS: I have used Dexterity, VBA and VSTools for customisations in the almost 30 years I have worked with GP.
