How to exclude certain columns when exporting report as CSV

Hi,

Inside the reports, there is an option to export as CSV. How can i change the fields that appear in CSV. I mean maybe exclude 2 columns for example.

Because there is a repot in ax 12..where the report shows a certain number of columns. However when exportinv using csv there are some columns excluded.

How can i do that?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi IntegrationBeginner,

Which exact report did you run? Is it a standard or custom report?

    Hi Andre and Alireza,

I agree with both of you that the number of columns in the report should match the number of columns when we export in csv (it makes sense).

However, this is not what was happening in ax12.

So I created the same report that was in ax12, in d365 ( same number of columns)

Now in ax12 when I exported to csv, the number of columns were less than the report. while in d365 they were the same.

Here's how the export looks in ax12 and in d365 (the columns in d365 that are not in ax12 export file are highlighted in yellow)

    Here's ax12

    Here's d365

my first question is, why the fields highlighted in yellow appear when I export as csv in d365 but not in ax 12. Even though these fields appear in ax12 report.

my second question, I've noticed that each column gets repeated (one with value and the other one just label, example (AccountNum0,AccountNum1)
but why TextBox2,TextBox4 and TextBox 6 in ax 12 appear only once. Also the equivalent for them in d365 appear only once (certain, certainName and CertainTeam) why is that?

    Hi IntegrationBeginner,

As Andre mentioned, you can use Data Management. When you export data via Data Management you have the possibility to choose the fields that you want to be exported and you can export to CSV. Another alternative can be via ER.

    Hi IntegrationBeginner,

This is not possible without removing the columns from the report design; which is a customization. The export to a file is a SSRS feature which exports the report in total.

If you need a CSV file, you can also use the Data Management features.

    HI,

Are you operating AX2012 or D365FO?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
