I have a user that wishes to have an email sent each time they are mentioned in a post.
Using the @<username> feature when posting.
How would one enable this?

I have the same question. There doesn't appear to be a clear one to one record that you could trigger a workflow from. It appears that you'd need to scrape the information from the text on the Posts entity. Not sure though. I'm hoping someone will reply to this thread with the best way to accomplish this.

You should probably be able to do this using a plugin on the create (or update) of a post record.
You when then have to retrieve the post info and search for the Guid of the user that was mentioned.
If mentioned, generate an email activity.
Don't have any sample for this, but should work. Test it out...
