Records Merge fields

Hello everyone

I need to know how I can edit the fields that are displayed on the Merge Records screen.

Scenario:  There are two identical Contacts in our CRM, with two different people designated as their "Owners".  When I select the two contacts and enter the Merge Records screen, I need to be able to select which Owner I want to keep.

Now, I'm aware this is done by selecting the Contact as the 'Master Record'.  But I would like a field to be present on the Merge Records screen, allowing me to choose which Owner I would like to be assigned to the final Merged Contact.

Merge Record screen shows all attributes which are present on the entity form.

Generally if any attribute is not on form, but want to show it when records are merged, then we need to add that attribute on Form, then only that attribute will be shown in merge record screen.

But for Owner-- it is not working that way.. Record ownership will not be changed when you are merging records.

So to change record owner.. you need to either create workflow which will change owner ship of merged record from master record owner to child owner record or plugin to change owner..

Or simple way is by selecting records from grid and assign records to required owner.. this is manual process.

    Hope this will help..

Unlike choosing values for other fields, updating Owner field is done using "Assign" functionality. Merge process will always take the Master record's owner as the owner of the resultant record after merge.

You need to manually assign the resultant record to the sub-ordinate record's owner, if you wish to. You could display Owner in the View of the records from which you clicked the 'Merge' button. This will show you the owner of the records before you trigger the Merge Process.

I was wondering if you got any further with this?  I have a similar issue, I would like to be able to see who is the Owner of each record in the merge window so I can select which is the master record.
