How to determine if an item is Active ?

HI I was looking at the SOP10200 table for the item description. (We had a need to reduce the legnth on some of them ) so I made such a distinct list.

Now the manager would like to see the

1.items that are active.

2. items that are inactive.

In which table would I get this type of info?

    Hi Trancefrank,

From the SOP10200 you can link the IV00101 (Item Master) table by reviewing the ITEMNMBR field in both tables.

In the IV00101 you can then review the ITEMTYPE column which defines an item's status as follows:

    • 1 - Sales Inventory
    • 2 - Discontinued
    • 3 - Kit
    • 4 - Misc Charges
    • 5 - Services
    • 6 - Flat Fee

Most likely you can use items with an ITEMTYPE of 2 for Discotinued in reviewing inactive items.

I also would recommend checking out Victoria Yudin's blog site for additional table information on SOP and IV modules:

    Hope that helps

To add to the good advice you've already gotten.  Before you can determine if an item is 'active' or not, you must ask for a definition of active.  Since GP does not have an 'active' / 'inactive' option for items, this can mean something different for every company.  For example, active could be having on hand quantity, or it could be an item purchased or sold in the last year.

    Very good point Victoria!
