I have been testing the schedule board and have found that when using the schedule board assistant bookable resource groups are not included in the search results. I find this strange as when configuring a bookable resource group the same information is available to record as for other bookable resource types such as characteristics, and crucially the start/end location and organisational unit which is used for location based search and generating estimated travel duration.
Bookable resource groups are included results when an "open" search, however when finding availability using the schedule assistant groups seem to be excluded. The key difference in this search to the open search is the location based searching and generation of an estimated travel duration which the group has the information to calculate.
If anyone can shed some light onto why groups are excluded that would be appreciated.
