Hi All,

We are facing a strange behavior of AX 2012 R3 CU11.

When we are opening a sale order with lines more than 10. Then AX client goes to not responding state and strange thing that during this AX client using "0" percent of CPU.

After 1 or 2 mints AX client use CPU are 20-25 percent and form open in few seconds after that.

Anybody tell me what is the reason for this strange behavior?

Everything else is working smooth and normal.

Edit:

Hi All,

I have observed and come to know that only order classification with "Bulk" & "Standalone" are having this problem.
All other sales order form opening normally.

Regards,

Hassan

    Check few things:

    1. Are there any customizations on the sales order form.

    2. Check if there are any user sessions with status Ending - blocked in the system.

    3. Try to use performance monitoring tools like trace parser or Performance analyzer.

    Hope that helps.

Maybe it's a problem with the statistics of InventSum, InventDim or InventLocation on the database.

    Try to update them:

    use [yourdatabasename]

    update statistics InventSum

    update statistics inventdim

    update statistics InventLocation

    Regards,

    Stefan

    Hi,

In order to find the cause for performance problem on sales order form, you could use a trace parser to log all the events on opening the form and analyze the process/event/query that is causing the delay.

    Thanks,

    Chaitanya Golla

You really should use tracing/TraceParser to measure and analyze what's slow. Trying to guess it isn't a very successful technique.

You have to know where the slowness is coming from.

For that you only have 2 options:

    - Trace capture for Client and Server for Dynamics AX, then check what takes time using the Trace Parser Tool

    - SQL Profiler capture, then checking the query plans to see if you have a missing index, too complex joins thus TempDB is used, or some other issues like index/statistics update not done, or other Disk IO/CPU/Memory pressure problems

Without you providing the details on what is really slow, we will be unable to come up with useful suggestions.
