Catch weight tag functionality is not working with cycle counting through WMS app.

Hi,

I am facing an issue related to catch weigh enable items cycle counting through the WMS app.

e.g. Item “A01” is a catchweight tag enable item, I have 4 boxes of item “A01” on location “LOC01” and the inquiry “On-hand discrepancies for catch weight tagged items” is not showing any discrepancy for A01 on LOC01. If I create a counting work for the location LOC01 and from the WMS app count the above item as 3 in that case system is reducing the onhand quantity but not reducing the count of catch weight tags, this behavior of the system is creating a discrepancy between onhand quantity and the tag counts. What is the reason for this behavior?

Thanks,

Muzzamil Zahid

    Hi,

While counting processes are supported for catch weight tagged items, the functionality is limited.  You can use the mobile device for counting tagged items however the the tags are not automatically updated with the counting process and must be manually adjusted.  The functionality is documented in the following article: Catch weight product processing with warehouse management - Supply Chain Management | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Docs

The behavior you are seeing is expected, based on the current design of the catch weight tag function.  You may create a product suggestion to enhance the current functionality for mobile device counting by visiting our Ideas Portal: Ideas (dynamics.com).

    Thanks,

    Alina
