Customer Notes in Business Central - Table Name, Table ID?

Posted on by 55

I'm trying to import some data into the customer notes in Business Central for many customers.

The notes are in the fact box.

Basically I need to create a configuration package, export the Customer Notes table into an excel.

Fill in the data, and import it back.

Unfortunately, I cannot find the table name or table ID for Customer Notes.  I was able to find the comment table, but this is not what I want.

What is table name and table ID for customer notes?Customer-Notes2.jpg

    Hi

Can you assign below permission set and test

    Permission Sets

Once installed, iDynamics Internal Notes adds two permission sets to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, which allow you to define the options available to each user.

    User

Users with this permission set (IDPINO USER) can check internal notes linked to customers and vendors, and view (notifications and alerts) of Internal Notes and Comments.

The only restriction of the permission set is that you cannot create, edit or delete internal notes linked to customers and vendors.

    Administrator

This role (IDPINO ADMIN) has full access to all iDynamics Internal Notes functionalities.

I think the issue I am having is related to this issue. I added an extension (iDynamics Internal Notes) to allow Notifications and Alerts to be added to Customer and Vendor/Item Cards, however some users cannot access the customers that had notes added to test this feature. The get an error message referencing Table Date.

The only difference I have been able to spot between those that can view and those that can't is Super Users can, no one else can. I obviously dont want to just give everyone Super User permissions-do you know what permission specifically I would need to change for the other users to allow them to access customers that have notes?

Hi, You can use Page Inspection to find the table ID.

You start page inspection from the Help & Support page. Choose the question mark in the top right corner, choose Help & Support, and then choose Inspect pages and data. Or, you can just use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+F1.

    Hope this will help.

    Thanks.

    Hi

You cannot use configuration package for that. You need a developer or extension to import Note. In below blog Kulla provided the answer as "The answer is the notes are saved in binary format in a blob field (Note) in the Record Link table (2000000068) and the way it maps to the record is using Record ID."
