AXUTIL importstore /apply command error "An error occurred in writing to the event log. -- Log Entry String is too long

This is the second time I have tried the MS minimal downtime code migration and I successfully import the new model store into a temporary schema.  When I run "axutil importstore /apply:tempschema /verbose" (with or without the /verbose flag), I get "WARNING: An error occurred in writing to the event log on machine FADEV2: Log entry string is too long. A string written to the event log cannot exceed 32766 characters." This appears right after "DROP VIEW [tempschema].[SYSMODELELEMENTLABELOLD]"

It did not drop the temporary schema, as I thought it was supposed to do automatically.  When I log into AX and go to help, I do not see the hotfixes that should have come over during the import.

Any help would be FANTASTIC!!

    Hi,

    Free up some good amount of disk space where your SQL logs are stored. I faced similar issue and having enough disk space for SQL logs during model store import helped.

    Thank you Rachit, but I found the fix...  I was good until I followed the MS instructions to use the command (Import-AXModelStore -Apply schemaname-database AXmodelname –detail).  One undocumented step (at least in my case) that should be done BEFORE the APPLY step,  I had to run (a. Initialize-AXModelStore -server servername -database AXmodelname_model). It gave me a bunch of strange errors.

    Thanks, your hint was very helpful. I was experiencing exactly your situation, and the reinitialize of the modelstore allowed me to successfully apply the schema (after 2 failed attempts).
