Changing Customer Class ID without updating the rest of customer information

Posted on by 5

Hi,

I would like to change customer class ID from AAA to BBB WITHOUT "updating the customer with information from class BBB".

I created integration to make a change but when I run it, it updates customer information (Terms, credit limit, etc) with defaults from class BBB.

Thanks!

When you change the customer class in the interface - do you not get a message asking you if you want to roll down changes?

How did you integrate the changes? Using Integration Manager?

You could do it as a Macro - remembering to click 'No' to the message above in the macro.

Or, you could update the Class ID in the RM00101 table through SQL?

    Ian.

    Hi Anna

The customer classID is a field that cannot be updated from the GP front-end as it serves as the primary key to the RM00201 table (customer class).

You can add a new customer class ID called BBB with pretty much the same attributes as Customer class AAA in GP from Sales>Setup>Customer Class and start using that class id for your customers using the Integration manager integration you built. Once you have "moved" all customers from class "AAA" to "BBB" you may discard the customer class "AAA" in GP again from Sales>Setup>Customer Class.

    Best Regards
